Objectives

Europe, and some countries in particular, are facing major health and natural disasters, which are expected to increase in the future. We will propose tools, training and instruments to help young people deal with the psychological impact these events can have on them and to increase their overall resilience in the face of these events. In addition, we want to provide professionals working with young people (social workers, youth workers, trainers, and teachers) with the appropriate knowledge and tools to increase their capacity and impact when working with young audiences.

Activities

We will carry out an in-depth analysis with the target group, from the results of this analysis and research we will define and create the training curriculum and content. This content will be digitised on an online platform and then tested with the target group. To increase the impact, we will publish a toolkit for youth workers and trainers with more details on how to deal with mental health issues in emergency situations and how to use the project content.

Impact

We will publish a mapping report, research findings and a comprehensive curriculum. Training content that youth centres can use to help young people build resilience or face mental health challenges following natural disasters or public health emergencies. For greater impact, we will publish these in digital format and provide guidance on how to use them. We will also develop a toolkit for youth workers, with supporting documents, to effectively engage with young people whose mental health is affected.
